Cheeks...
Today, I was supposed to go to the Zoo with Evigan. We have been thinking about it since last year but, due to his rather limited freedom, we were not able to execute our plan.
So we were looking forward to today because he booked out yesterday which means he literally has the whole day free today.
But we didn't go in the end. BECAUSE I FELL SICK!!!

I feel really bad, on top of feeling sick. =/

UPDATES!!!
23rd January 2009 - Friday
At around 6.30pm today, I recieved a call from Evigan, asking me to get ready to meet him as he will be having his 'Nights out'.
Met up with him and we headed to Macs for dinner before heading back to my place to slack.
At around 9.30pm, I walked him down and caught a cab for him and sent him off.
24th January 2009 - Saturday
Baby booked out today at around 4.30pm. We headed back to his place for dinner and to watch him complete his Resident Evil 4 game on the Wii.
25th January 2009 - Sunday
Evigan was supposed to have his jamming session at 9am today. Unfortunately, everyone was late so they cancelled it and headed to Ziyang's place instead. Took a couple of shots and chatted abit before Evigan and I headed to Suntec City for my long awaited Pepper Lunch. For once, there was hardly anyone. Thank goodness.
After that, seeing that I had 2 hours to kill and Evigan had to head home, I decided to buy a standard ticket to Boon Lay, but head to Simei MRT first before bidding Evigan good bye and heading back to Boon Lay.
Went to Aunt Grace's house for our reunion dinner and to celebrate Darren's and Jasmine's birthdays.
26th Jannuary 2009 - Monday
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
Headed to my father's side in the morning. My little cousin, Andrea, who loves drawing, drew me a 'letter'. She's really shy. As for her elder sister, Brenda, well, I overheard her singing some song that was playing on the laptop.
After about 2 hours or so there, we headed home to rest up.
Left for my mother's side. This year, I took part in the poker table. I lost about $20 out of $30. But no worries! Read my next post where I made a comeback! Mwahaha...
27th January 2009 - Tuesday
Dad dropped me off at Evigan's house at around 11.45am. We had steamboat. After a very filling lunch, Evigan and I brought Miko and Bensha down for a walk.
Evigan's dad dropped us at Kath Aunty's house. Then I joined the poker table again. This time, I won back my $20 and on top of that, I won another $8.30! Hehe...
Had dinner, took a couple of pictures. Played Street Fighter Alpha 2. I was playing with a car with Aidan. Hehe he's so cute! To see him smile and laugh and get all excited really brightens my day up! =)
At around 11.30pm, I headed back to Evigan's house to hang around.
28th January 2009 - Wednesday
Went to Evigan's house at 10.45am. We headed to K-Box at Downtown East with his family.
Then we went to Orchard where Evigan got a nice pair of jeans at Pull and Bear.
Pictures to come soon!

I...
..am running on what I would call, reserved energy right now. Well, all the reserve, of course, comes from the days when I slept till 1 in the afternoon.
Why?
Because I hardly had any sleep at all. I tried to go to bed at 1.30am and I failed rather miserably at that. So I decided to pick up a book that I read a couple of years back to see if I could, well, read myself to sleep.
Apparently not.
I read all the way till 5am. I had about 6 more chapters to go and I KNOW that I could still go one reading as I wasn't feeling tired but, I HAD to get some sleep.
Lights off.
I managed to fall asleep, though I was sleeping rather "lightly". Any single sound / beam of light that got to me, woke me up and I had to fight to stay asleep. Heard my mum waking my brother up. I checked my phone, "5.50am". GAH!!!
Forced myself back to sleep again.
The next time I checked my phone, it said, "8.30am". I groaned and laid back, pulling my comforter over my head.
Awhile later, I looked at the phone again. "9.45am".
I decided to get up. Hopefully, I'll "knonk" out by 1am later.
On a side note...
Hi Tommy...

..I love you...
..marry me please?

Home is where the heart is.
Well well well, today I wore something that I won't usually wear because to me, it's abit extreme and I was afraid that I'll look like one of those girls wearing hardly anything at all because they're just like that.
I wore: the Paul Stanley t-shirt, a pair of shorts (hand me downs from my cousin), black stockings, to cover up my legs, and my favourite pair of heels that I bought some time back.
And, being the unsure person that I am, I decided to do a test run with my outfit yesterday. Wore it, took some shots and showed them to people that I trust that were also, online. Darren, Jayashree and Iylia. All of which said that I look nice in it and when I asked, they said that it doesn't make me look like a slut. Phew! (Some people might think otherwise though, given their narrow mindedness and self absorbed thoughts in their pathetic little world of course.)
So I went to pick Evigan up, as usual, arriving a tad bit earlier and having to wait at the bus stop outside his camp. My outfit did catch the attention of well, maybe his entire company or something; apparently they were all staring and pointing at me but I did not notice as my eyes were fixed on his parents' car and my mind was set on both trying to get to the car asap and not breaking my ankle in the process.
Then Evigan got out of the car, put his bag in the boot and started (jokingly) shouting at the guys, "Look what look?! Look somemore!" Now THAT'S when I got extremely self conscious of my surroundings. I spotted Evigan's parents chuckling in the car though; that kinda amused me for a second.
After we settled lunch, did abit of shopping where I found what I've been looking for, a book. And also got a skirt, and a new pair of shoes all just for $7!!! Then we headed back to Evigan's house where his sister gave me loads of her stockings which she never got a chance to wear.
So Evigan and I went to City Hall to look for a nice pair of jeans for him at Topman and Zara. We couldn't find anything though. Pity...
Then we headed to Cine Leisure for dinner at Subways while waiting for Dong's band, Astroninja, to start playing at *scape. We finished up and reached there just in time to catch their last two songs, and also a rather unprofessional comment from the front man. Jeez...
Bumped into Joe and Rudolf, then Sharmila, Pre, Val, and Jolyn. Hung out for a lil before Evigan and I left to do a little more shopping around town.
By the end of the day, Evigan was down with a really bad flu and probably a fever. He sent me home still. And now, I miss him already...

21st Month Celebration!
11th January 2009 - Sunday
I stayed over at Kath Aunty's house because Evigan would be booking out at 6am and I wanted to see him asap. We were having our belated 21st Month Celebration today.
I gave Evigan his present, a Paul Stanley T-shirt. Heh... I really got him this time; not that I never managed to surprise him though. I would say that this was my best surprise ever. Mwahaha...
We headed to Bugis to walk around to look for my 2nd (and last) Chinese New Year's dress. Didn't find anything, so we moved on to City Hall to look for a pair of nice boots for Evigan.
And once again, we didn't manage to find anything nice.
So... We took a bus to Dhouby Ghaut. Went to This Fashion and we found a nice pretty dress!!! Hehe... I'm done for my Chinese New Year shopping!
Had a snack at Long John Silvers before walking around Plaza Singapura for about 10 minutes.
After that, we headed over to Heeren followed by Cine Leisure where Evigan brought me up to the shop where he wanted to get my present.
We had a lil debate over which t-shirt he should get me, 'Little Mr Slash', or the Paul Stanley one; the same design as the t-shirt that I got for him. I decided that I should think about it abit more so we went to have dinner at Suki Sushi. The boyfriend generously ordered my favourite salmon sashimi for me, soft shelled crab, and a dragon avocado roll. =)
After dinner, he brought me back up to get my present. I was a lil reluctant as I didn't want him to spend so much money; he paid for dinner you see. He made me go in the end and I decided to get both t-shirts. He bought me the 'Little Mr Slash' t-shirt and I got myself the Paul Stanley t-shirt, with my savings from the past week.
We strolled over to Far East and Evigan got his long awaited boot straps, the design is similar to the belt that I got him some time back. Took a couple of pictures before he sent me home. =)

Miss You Nights
Nostalgia:
The term nostalgia describes a longing for the past, often in idealized form. The word is made up of two Greek roots (νόστος nostos "returning home", and άλγος algos "pain"), to refer to "the pain a sick person feels because he wishes to return to his native home, and fears never to see it again". It was described as a medical condition, a form of melancholy, in the Early Modern period, and came to be an important topic in Romanticism.
Sigh... I really hate this arrangement; having limited talking time with Evigan, not being able to see him every weekday, and only having him free on weekends. I mean, yes, this makes us cherish our time spent together more, and we do our best to make the most of our time but, nights like these, I really wish he was on the phone with me still; like how it was in the past.
How I wish that I could spit out 70 plus thousand dollars and throw it in LKY's face and then leave Singapore with Evigan (and hopefully, my family) and save myself from my current situation of nostalgia.
======================================
Times when innocence I'd trade for company
And children, saw me crying
I thought I'd had my share of that
But these miss you nights are the longest
Midnight diamonds stud my heaven
Southward burning lie the jewels that eye your face
And the warm winds that embrace me
Just as surely kissed your face
Yeah these miss you nights they're the longest
(Lay down)
Lay down all thoughts of your surrender
It's only me who's killing time
(Play down)
Play down all dreams once remembered
It's just the same, this miss you game
Thinking of my going
How to cut the thread and leave it all behind
Looking windward for my compass
I take each day as it arrives
But these miss you nights are the longest
But these miss you nights
Are the longest

Flu!
3rd January 2008 - Saturday
Picked Evigan up and his parents sent us back to his place to wash up, change, and unpack. We cam-whored a little with Miko, one of Evigan's two dogs. She's so adorable! Her eyes are beautiful!
Went Chinese New Year shopping with Evigan and his parents at Tampines Mall. Managed to find 2 really nice shirts for him. One black, one white. His family is less uptight about the whole, "no black for chinese new year" matter. But of course, he'll be wearing the white shirt if he comes visiting on my side of the family.
I couldn't find anything nice (and cheap) so we had dinner at Macs before bidding his parents farewell and heading to town to look at the $16.50 white dress that I saw at 'Pull and Bear' at Takashimaya. Tried it on once again and decided that it doesn't look as nice anymore! Poo...
Baby sent me home later and we hung out at the Kopitiam where my parents were hanging at (as usual).
4th January 2008 - Sunday
Met Evigan at like, 9.30am? Yes, I woke up early. Very early indeed. We were around Simei till the afternoon before we headed to Tampines Mall to grad dinner at Yoshinoya. We went to the Toys R' Us branch because I wanted to get the Cars and Wall-E Calendar for Ian and I respectively. However, they only had the Wall-E calendars left. So I decided not to buy any in the end. Sigh...
We headed to town and caught 'Yes Man'. Good show, I must say. Very well paced. After the movie, we walked around Cineleisure and we saw really nice T-shirts that we're planning to buy. I alreayd have 2 in mind but as they're super expensive, like $35 at least, I decided to put them on hold till I have saved enough moolah.
Then we went to the Heeren to look out for nice, potential, Chinese New Year dresses. Managed to find one really nice tube dress at level 3, I forgot which shop though.
Went back to his house to get ready for dinner at his grandparent's house.

Christmas Post [Day 2]
25th December 2008 - Christmas Dinner with Evigan and his Family
Location: Evigan's House
I woke up at around 7am to get ready and left the house at around 7.45am. At the Bukit Batok train platform, while waiting for the train to Jurong East, I saw 4 dogs on the hill lazing around, enjoying the morning breeze and of course, playing with each other. So cute I tell you; wanted to cuddle them and bring them home!
While I was on the train there, I looked into the paper bag with the presents and... LO AND BEHOLD! A little Black Beetle! For your information, I am extremely terrified of beetles; as harmless as some are. I was freaking out throughout the whole train ride there and I kept looking in the the bag, moving it here and there because of the position of the beetle. I aroused the curiousity and suspicion of some passengers. Oops...
When I reached Simei, I stopped at the benches on the platform, took out the presents from the bag, and I tipped it upside down. The beetle fell out and I quickily made a dash for the exit. I could have killed it but it's so small and I couldn't bring myself to. =x
Reached Evigan's house at around 9am.
Slacked around before leaving the house with him and his father to get some army supplies at Beach Road followed by Safra at Tampines to get his watch and finally back home again for lunch.
Around 5.30pm, Evigan, Rhiannon (his older sister), and I went to East Point to pick up the turkey. Rhiannon went to pick her boyfriend up after Evigan and I left.
Soon, dinner was served and we all had a ball of a time, eating and chatting away.
After dinner, we crowded around the Christmas Tree to open presents. I gave Evigan 2 Halo Books in total and I gave his family a picture frame with their family picture in it. Baby gave me a bouquet of 3 roses with a bear which has a pre-recorded voice message that could be erased and recorded anytime else. His parents gave me Chocolate Truffles and a beautiful, Bell-Shaped Perfume Bottle.
Hung out with Evigan a little more before he got ready and went back to camp.

Christmas Post [Day 1]
24th December 2008 - Christmas Party with the family
Location: Ah Kong's House
Here's a blog post by my cousin, Gregory. I'm a bit lazy to type everything and, after reading his post, I find it along the lines of what I would be saying (and more) so yes, here you go, Gregory's post: [It's a pretty interesting read so do take some time to do so! =)]
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL!!! :):):)
Hope everyone has fun this festive season! I just came back from my mother's extended family's Christmas party, which is something that we've had every year since i was dunno-how-old. Most of us in the family aren't Christians, but well...we do like to celebrate the holiday, and this has become something of a tradition for us.
It started with my older cousins (like 5-12 years older) organising simple games and sing-a-longs way back when i was a toddler or something. And after a few years, the party started to get bigger and better...it helped that our extended family eventually grew to over thirty in number. There used to be games like musical chairs, limborock, dancing, dress-up competitions, guess the number of m&ms and charades, and today we still have the balloon blowing competition and pyramid game and now other stuff like pictionary, taboo, sudoku, and watermelon eating competitions. And there are prizes to be won for all the games of course.
Then there's the video game competition, which first started in 1994, where i lost in the finals to my mum lol. The game we play is almost always a 2D fighter, and i still sorta remember who won during which year, although i can't say that i'm as excited about it as i used to be. I suppose the competition was where my real love for Street Fighter began hahaha!
Our family has really weird but nice traditions, like "lucky draw prizes" at the end of the party where my mum would bring loads of her excess "junk", like paper notebooks and toiletry bags and stuff and pass them around to all the kids to bring home (there were times when she bought underwear and err other things to distribute 0.o...she's quite famous for all that); our present-exchange system structured so that everyone would get at least one christmas present (and where there would be a lot of gossip between the aunties over which people they had to buy presents for); how we've had these competitions for so long already that we have established favourites for every game; the way we play charades, where everyone would deliberately get very close to the answer, but not quite correct yet, just so the person acting out the answer would keep acting...until one of the kids just can't stand it anymore and shouts out the answer (for some candy, of course).
Also, the organisers of the party would always be the kids...when they hit a certain age and seem capable enough, the older kids would pass the "mantle" down and the new group of kids take charge of assigning game prizes, presents, and food and drinks for each family to prepare. And to fix up a timetable, organise the games, come up with the questions and stuff and take charge on the day itself of course.
The "mantle" is passed down very gradually...every couple of years, one younger cousin (because the "kids" are all my cousins lol) would be "inducted" (informally lah) to help out in organising, and another cousin would retire and just err sit back and enjoy. And occasionally help out, i suppose. There'd be two to three organisers every year. I suppose i consider myself retired...i organised last year's Christmas and have done three or four Christmas parties in total. University life has its moments of free time, but all of it is spent with a tinge of guilt...urgh. :|
Anyway the party yesterday was pretty fun! Seemed a bit shorter and less eventful, but i suppose that's because we've been making the party more free and easy over the years...not to mention that we haven't had family gatherings regularly for a very long time, and i AM growing old (and therefore time passes faster for me...yikes).
I won the video game competition and pyramid game! Mwahahaha i take pride in being able to explain things to people thoroughly...and to the point too, if there's very little time. My Christmas presents have been pretty nice as well...very practical and useful stuff, nothing too extravagant and wasteful, or useless and cheap. Our family is a pretty nice bunch! :)
We're a pretty funny bunch too! Our family's got this sense of humour that probably can't be understood unless you know us well enough.
For example, we played this one-on-one buzzer game yesterday, where, at one point, competitors have to answer the question (or rather category) with an example. We'd rush to press the bell and there was a three second time-limit before the person who pressed the bell had to answer or otherwise forfeit the points. This made for some funny answers...
Category: Things you'd find in a woman's handbag...
Uncle no. 1 presses the bell: "Ahh ermm...torchlight!"
Lol what the hell. Everyone started laughing, discussing the possibilities and making fun of him. My dad exclaimed that we should all go check his wife's handbag now, to see if she carried a torchlight or not.
Category: Food you can eat without chewing...
Uncle no. 2 presses the bell: "Err jelly......fish!
Immediately, he puts his face in his hands and exclaims: "Oh shit, i wanted to say jelly!!!"
Category: Things a girl would have to know about her boyfriend before marrying him...
My mum, instead of pressing the bell, starts taunting her opponent Darren, my twelve year old pre-pubescent cousin (who is err MOST likely single right now): "Ah hah! This one you confirm don't know!"
Darren proceeds to press the bell, and exclaims: "...WHO THE BOYFRIEND'S MOTHER IS!"
Okay, i'm not sure if these are all inside jokes, but well yeah...back then, i thought that they were damn freaking funny.
My own take / add-ons:
I myself, have organised a couple of Christmas parties with Gregory, and I have to say that organising games like the Charades can be rather frustrating as after a few years of Charades, you start to run out of ideas. So the new games introduced last year (2008) was a new breath of air. Punctuality is well, quite a bit of a problem too, not forgetting the random Mahjong games before, during and after the party itself amongst the adults!
And the only time I SO CLOSE to winning at the Video Games Competition was when we played Soul Calibur; I was in the finals with Ronald and yes, one button beats all. Boo...
Anyways, this is a nice and wonderful tradition to have and to keep. I really hope it does not fade away as we all start growing a little older. You can say that, I would not mind organising again if I had to just to keep this going for as long as it takes. =)
Pictures! [Note that nearly all the pictures have been uploaded onto Facebook (a private album for the family) so I'll only be posting selected pictures here.]
