Youth Gone Wild on Friday, 23rd June 2006.
Met Yit Jing and Hidayat for lunch. Burger King yummehh... Crap-ed and crap-ed. There was this boy and girl, siblings I presume. The boy was like, "Guys should sit with guys and girs should sit with girls."
"Lee Kuan Yew will be so sad to hear that..." said Hidayat. (or was it Yit Jing? oops...)
Anyways, Yit Jing was like, "Girls shouldn't sit with guys, girls should sit ON guys."
LOL.
Anyways, we finished eating and went to cheers to grab some stuff for the concert. I got two rows of mentos and a bottle of water. Won't say what Yit Jing got but he got real high after that.
Reached Braddell MRT station. Zaty, Firdaus and Hairul were there. Went to 7 Eleven to get Hairul and Firdaus their red bull. The rest came and after Darren placed his bet at Singapore Pools, we headed down the Whitley Secondary. Stood in the freaking hot sun for about 15mins or so before Levan commented that it was hot and told the people to let us in. Grr... And to think he promised me backstage passes... %$#^%@!!!!!
Anyways, we got let in and we headed to the canteen to slack and wait till they allowed us to go up. Took some pictures in the toilet and messed around.
When it was about time for the "gates" to open, we headed to the front and snapped up the front part of the row. (More chances to get the front rows. Woohoo...) I bought two badges - One Youth Gone Wild one and One Ronin one. Simply gorgeous I tell you, gorgeous!
Well, I got the front row alright, right smack in the middle to add on. Zaty, Ezaline, Yit Jing and Sailesh was with me while Darren, Hidayat, Hairul, Ain and Firdaus stood at the sidelines. Boo!!!
Concert started with 3 Dash 1. The bassist was goddamn hot I tell you. Plus, I heard that he's from NYP too. Holy... *faints* Haha... They were good I should say. Played songs which I recgonise and could sing along to. =)
After them, it was a string of bands. Kinda forgot the sequence but yeah...
Anyways, the most important part of the show, AND the band that nearly everyone including myself and the people that came with me was waiting for. Ronin.
When I saw Levan step on stage with the cute girl uniform that he bought weeks ago and that he so proudly announced on his MSN display picture, my heart soared like no one's business. I mean, although I know that guy in person already, I guess I was still blown away by how gorgeous he looked. Screamed my lungs out while they were playing. Their performance was the best ever amongst the rest cos they really interacted with the crowd.
Sadly though, their performance came to an end. A CHIJ Girl band came on with "We're All To Blame" by Sum 41. They totally killed it. And we left for the canteen to grab some drinks.
Bought a Ronin Poster and got Levan to sign it. "You're My Biatch! Levan Wee [heart with a arrow through it] Much Love" Was what he wrote/drew. Took some pictures with Levan. One with his phone and two more with Ezaline's and Hidayat's camera. Talked to Levan for awhile before heading off with Ezaline, Yit Jing and Hidayat.
Yit Jing, Hidayat and I went to Toa Payoh to play a few rounds of pool before heading off to Macdonalds to catch the Switzland and Korea match. I had caught a cold by then.
Yit Jing's friends, Darren and Winnie joined us somewhere inbetween the match.
Slacked around after the match till it was about 6am. Caught the first train home. Hidayat walked me home before heading to Macs to get something for himself. Thanks Hidayat! =)
Here's one of the things Levan said to me during the match. (We were text-ing each other.)

How true...

About the Girl
She's 18 this year. Loves spending time with people, meeting new people and seeing old friends. Cherishes her family and friends around her. Never felt a need to fit in. Loves the person she is. Loves all kinds of music but can't stand techno. Very interesting and fun to be around with. Not your typical Girl Next Door. Can be innocent, pure and sweet. Can also be a bitch when provoked. Enjoys intelligent conversations. Can be a dork/klutz at times. Doesn't care if she makes a fool out of herself whenever she is with her friends and family. Likes doing what her heart tells her to do. She loves venting to people, and letting people vent to her. She really likes listening to people talk. She also loves to talk to people. She loves a lot of people, she has alot of love.
She loves the simple things in life. Swings, the wind, lazing about on her bed, watching the clouds go by, star gazing. She wants to go horse riding, bungee jumping, sky diving before she dies.
She dislikes people who are too cocky, creepy, obsessive, exaggerative, ignorant and fake. Dislikes being pestered to do things in which she has a choice in but constantly bugged by losers to do. Her theory:
There are 3 Kinds of guys. 2 of which are common, 1 being rare.
The common kind:
1) Guys with No Confidence - Guys who thinks that they're not good enough - Guys who think too much - Guys who keeps disisng themselves (they make themselves look cocky in a way cos they may come across to me as trying to get people to praise them instead.)
2) Guys who are Over Confident - They think they know everything when they don't - They always want to be mentioned - They always think that people should do what they say/suggest/insist on - They always like to be praised
The rare kind:
3) Guys who are Confident and Humble - They know their strengths and weaknesses - They are not afraid to admit their weaknesses - They are pure gentlemen
I remember Levan asking me that question when we first met while walking through the crowded mall at Tampines.
I immediately shook my head and looked ahead to avoid bumping into people.
That happened last Sunday, 11th June.
I didn't really give that question much thought as we talked about other stuff seconds later.
Looking back, that would have been an interesting topic to debate about. I'd be the opposition and he'll be the proposition.
Let's now take some time to examine the topic.
Is Pink The New Black?
There's no doubt that black has been the party uniform for decades. The colour never seems to go out of style. The designers? They've (those who make western clothes) always used the colour liberally saying, "Oh, you know, black is in again." And they say it every season of every year. So, black was in this year too, but with a twist.
One saw it on the cover of a popular Indian fashion glossy first. The model was wearing a strappy satin top by Chanel - pink with a black trimming for relief. Black lace on pink, black stripes on a pink sweater or shoes, tiny black sequins on a pink party dress... a combination that's conventionally been a part of Western fashion. Specially in the vintage, Hollywood scheme of things. And it's emerged from the era into other decades too.
After the magazine cover, a store called Morgan De Toi opened within a month of one called Pink, both in GK I. One couldn't help but notice a subterfuge of pink and black things: from corsets to skirts and mini dresses. Morgan had devoted almost its entire store to this combination.
Nextt 2000 and Bizarre weren't far behind. Then designers Gauri and Nainika (who retail under the label Magnetic Rag) did a show recently where their models were dressed in pink and black (and a little red). Even Christina Aguilera appears to have got into this mood, in her video with Nelly. Is there really a trend here, or are we reading more into random events?
"Pink and black is definitely on," says accessory designer Kalyani Chawla.
She believes that a hint of pink accentuates a slim black number.
Circa co-owner and socialite Simran Kanwar gives this combination a thumbs up. "Pink and black is the new white and black."
Everyone hasn't converted though.
"I don't see many people in these colours together," observes designer Rohit Gandhi. Suggests Simran, "As a retailer, I'd say if you're wearing black, put a pink with it."
She's hit the nail on the head.
Yes, so now pink and black are becoming good complimenting colours but still, "Is pink the new black?"
I'd say, never.
When you wear the pink, you don't want to just show it off completely. You just want to wear it under a jacket or something, so it's like a touch of pink right here and maybe a touch of pink on the shoes.
Whereas, when you're in school or just anywhere in the streets, wherever you turn, you see people in black shirt, pants, shoes etc.

Met Ain at Yio Chu Kang MRT interchange today. Saw Anders infront of us when we were walking to school. Hung around the Phat Nite prop-makers. (The committee basically.) Collected $10 from Zaty for the tickets. After much hassel, Ain and I went off to Toa Payoh to meet Darren to collect the $20 for Hidayat and himself.
Then it was off to meet Hairul. My shoes were pratically killing me with every step I took. Damn shoes... Effing tight and sharp. It cut the heel of my feet for goodness sake...
Saw Hairul sitting at the top part of the stairs. Was told that the higher you sit, the less chances of a interview-er harassing you. Haha...
Limped to Lido in pain. Levan text-ed me to say that he was on his way. Waited for about 15mins and lo and behold, Mr Levan Wee wizzed in with his friend beside him. He didn't see me though. LOL. Then I recieved a call from him and I was like, "I'm just sitting in front of you..." And raised my hand. He told me to go over to get the tickets. I said later cos I was in the middle of eating my ice cream, in addition to that, my feet was killing me. Slacked around while watching the movie previews on the big screens before walking over to Levan and the Youth Gone Wild committee with Hairul.
Levan likes Hairul's shirt, Levan's friend likes Hairul's hair, Hairul likes Levan's hair. How sweet... ^_^ HAHA... Anyways, we crapped with Levan a lil before heading back to our seats. Levan called me innocent and naive. !!! Haha...
We were deciding whether to watch Silent Hill due to the lack of funds. Finally decided to and after we bought the tickets, we went to Borders to kill some time before the show. I got a yellow balloon! Haha... But I gave it to this cute little boy. Poor kid, his father plays the guitar along the underpass for a living, We gave whatever change we had after we counted how much we needed to fill our stomachs. Yes, we were seriously broke, $8 for the three of us left. If I had more, I would have given it to the father and son. That kid was so cute, he came to shake our hands to thank us. I patted his head and was like, "Good boy." He beamed at me and that smile from him totally melted my heart. Ain and I wanted to donate the whole $8 to them but we had to face the fact that we had to sastify our hunger. I made a mental note to myself to give more the next time I see them.
Anyways, we slacked a bit more whilst eating our popcorns. Bought a cheesy hotdog and that marked the end of our spendings. Levan was still there.
Went in for the movie and minutes after it started, I wanted to leave. But like, after the show devloped, I kinda got over my fear, it was just the gruesome creatures that popped up. The show was more of a thriller to me in the end. Haha...
With my feet still in pain, we walked around the streets of Orchard before heading home.
Phew... I hereby decalre bankrupt. Are you guys with me? Hairul? Ain?
I feel like whatever I do now, whatever decisions I make, whatever that happens in life, I have to answer to someone... Hell, I don't even have to say so much to my parents to start with...
Going to meet Ain in school later to do some studying. After that we're gonna head on to town to meet Hairul and Firdaus and hopefully Darren so that we can meet Levan to get the tickets. Woohoo...

Met Hairul and Firdaus at Bukit Batok MRT Station today at 2.20pm to go to school. Hairul and I had an interview with some lady from school.
Hairul and I went for the interview while Firdaus went to Block L level 6 to meet the Phat Nite 3 people. We were brought to this meeting room at level 4 at the office, I don't know how to describe where it was, it was around the escalator though.
Was done with the interview in a matter of 20mins. Gosh... We came all the way from the west just for 20mins of talking. Perfect. Haha... Anyways, Hairul and I dropped by at Block L to say hi. Firdaus' natural instinct got him helping cut the cardboard out. Prop person indeed...
Went to the South Canteen with Nicky to grab a bite. Poor guy was all stressed with his school projects. In addition to that, he's the only publications member in Phat Nite. *huggies to you nicky* =)
Hairul, Firdaus and I left to go parkour. Messed around on the train. Then I realised that I can't go cos I had a birthday dinner with the family. So I continued taking a train to Boon Lay MRT station instead of dropping off at Lakeside with Hairul and Firdaus.
Had dinner at Crysta Jade Restaurant. Ordered Century Egg with Lean Meat Congee. For some reason I felt like eating Century Egg although I dislike it... Weird... Haha...
After dinner, daddy gave me some money and I went shopping with Nicholas (my brother). Bought two pairs of shoes and a pair of jeans. Wanted to meet Firdaus, Hairul and Ain to watch them parkour but they were heading off when I was about to leave to meet them. =(

BandzOut 2006/07 will be one of the most memorable events that I will ever organise in my entire life. Sad though, it ended in a matter of hours...
The day started off quite badly... Data Structures and Algorithm test first thing in the morning... I think I'm gonna probably fail... Sigh...
Anyways I left the class as soon as I was done with the test. Walked over to the Amphitheatre in the drizzle, psyching myself for what's to come. Started thinking of what is done, what is not done and the people I should assign the various tasks to... Had a lil emo time with myself while walking.
Set the stuff up etc etc. Time was getting shorter and shorter for us. The Certificates and Tokens were not printed, sound check wasn't done, people were not briefed and we still have to meet President Anders regarding the security. Had a walk with Senior Bob cos we were gonna print some stuff out. He spoke to me regarding certain stuff and told me something that really shocked me. I didn't want that to happen...
The judges were late.
We had to delay the show for about 15mins. Started straight away the second the last judge arrived. Started off quite well...
Then we had a power trip.
At first I didn't know that we had a power trip. Until Senior Bob went up to talk. The first thing that came to my mind was, "Ok, time for Plan B... ..Wait... What is Plan B???" While worrying about the power trip I had to worry about something else, some of the people who were supposed to be stationed at a particular place have moved away from their positions and were hanging out somewhere else.
I immediately went up to check out the situation. Then I went to Senior Bob to get him and Vin, the other Emcee, to entertain the crowd. I was thinking of having a drum solo and when Yew King suggested it to me, I was like, "Ah it's a good idea then!" Went to ask some drummers up onstage to drum. About 2 went up and then we had no more drummers. Hairul and I went to beg Helmi, the drummer for Samanta/Judge, on stage to drum. He said no at first. I could see that Hairul was as desperate as I was. He was like, "Please!!! I really need your help now!!!". Eventually, he went up. I took a breather watching him drum to while waiting for the maintanience to get the power back on. Prayed and prayed for the power to get back on.
We had a meeting outside with the seniors to discuss what to do to entertain the crowd to prevent them from leaving. Hairul and I decided that, if by 8pm, the lights are still not up, we'll just have the prize presentation ceremony and call the event off. That means, we have to apologise to the guest bands for making a wasted trip down.
It was 7.45pm when we made that decision.
Continued with getting drummers for the Drum Sole whilst thinking of a better contingency plan.
7.56pm...
Looked at my watch. "Looks like, we may have to call the event off after all..."

Oh my god! I saw a few lights come back on and my heart soared! Thank goodness! Senior Xavier was like, "3 more mins!!!". Haha... Senior Bob and Vin immediately jumped on stage to continue with the show.
After all the participants were done, we got the guest bands up. We were left with one and a half hours and 5 guest bands, each with about 3-4 songs to play. Time was ticking by fast. We were told to inform the guest bands to cut the time for each guest bands down. So I did, Hairul and I even signalled to the guest bands when they went on stage, to remind them about the time constraint. However, some were stubborn and they still went on with their own plan. Hadirman's band, Diephoria, dedicated my favourite Trivum song to me, Dying in Your Arms. Really beautifully done. Thank you Hadirman! I really applaude the 2 days of practice and the performance of the song. It was awesome!
After all the guest bands have performed, we had the prize giving ceremony. Anders went crazy with one of the guest bands and the picture taking... I was pratically laughing like mad. Then it was Calvin's turn followed by Xavier.
Then it hit me.
BandzOut 2006/07 was coming to an end.
Senior Bob and Vin gave their final words and passed the mics over to us. For a moment, I was speechless. Hairul gave his speech to thank everyone and the seniors. And when it was my turn, I didn't know what to say... Hairul said everything already so I just said, "I would like to thank everyone for making this event possible..." in my already damaged voice. Hairul then asked Senior Kia Fang and Senior Xavier to come down for a speech. Senior Xavier shouted, "You don't want this event to end ah?" And Hairul and I were like, "No!!!"
Sadly though, we had to end it...
While packing up, the security turned the lights off and we were in total darkness.
WHAT THE HELL?!?!?! Don't those people have some common sense in them? Can't they at least think of us and the fact that we had to pack up? Jeez...
Eventually, after some people went to inform the security to turn the lights on for us to pack up, we were done and we went for our debrief.
Anders told me and Hairul to give the Amphitheathre one final check. We both went down and I went to pick our banner up. On the way up, Senior Kah Yip shook my hands and congratulated me. Thank you! =)
Hairul and I went back down again and spoke to Keith, the owner of Lee Kwong Seng. He shook our hands and said that we were very good organisers and that this year's BandzOut is the best ever. Damn, I wanted to give that guy a hug I tell you... He had been so nice and sociable from the minute I met him.
At the debrief, I was honestly not really happy at what was said. Felt that some things wasn't our fault and that it really can't be helped. Especially when it has got to do with the guest bands and their performance time. I mean, you don't expect me to rush up stage, grab the mic and stop the performance do you? Then again, I guess we should have made it clear to all the guest bands beforehand. Ah well... I didn't say much at the debrief. Most probably because Hairul said whatever that I wanted to say. Then again, it may be because I wanted to "shoot back" at what was said but I held back.
We were asked to do a BandzOut cheer for the last time. I could sense that most of us weren't in the mood to do so like I was. Either we were tired or we were just brought down by what was said. In the end, we did a rather fair job of the cheer.
Senior Bob came to shake my hand and to cheer me up after what was said. I wanted to say something to him too but I was about to cry and the only words I managed to say was, "Thank you."
President Anders called me "kan chiong" during the debrief. I beg to differ. I usually remain calm... Guess it's how i act that makes me look panicky... When he came to shake my hand after I spoke to Senior Bob, he kinda saw that I was upset in a way. Asked why I was like that, and I said, "What do you think?". Well, he guessed right and apologised to me for saying that infront of everyone and even offered me his sleeve to wipe my tears haha...
Vice President Calvin also shook my hands and congratulated me. Heh...
Calvin, you forgot to bring the tissues!
While walking with Ain to Block L to meet the rest for diner at S11, I cried. It's over... In a matter of hours... Weeks of sleepless nights and days of non stop planning and it was all over in just 4 hours... Well, you can also say that it's the beginning of a new start...
Went up to the log room. Senior Andrew came to me and said, "A technical mistake is not a mistake." and he told me to remember that. =)
Walked to S11 in pain. I didn't had anything to eat since 8am. Thank you to Yew King and Nicky for lending me your arms to hold. =)
Had dinner, Anders treated me so thank you Anders. I was teasing Wilfred most of the time. Haha... Sorry dude, you know I love you really... =D
Hadirman text-ed me to congratulate me and we spoke for a lil while. I was really touched and surprised about what he said. Not to mention, I was honoured.
Anyways, every event has it's own bad and good points. I just feel that some people emphasised on the mistakes and made it look like we made alot of mistakes when, in actual fact, there were more good stuff that bad stuff... Ah well, I guess it's just plain old human nature... Only that, some people tend to take it a lil too far just to make themself look good. Pathetic creatures aren't we? =)
------------------------------------- BandzOut 2006/07 committee - We did it! Had our ups and downs, good and bad times. I words can't express how much gratitude I have for each and everyone of you. Ever since I was promoted to the A. I/C, you guys have given me your full support. I may have made mistakes along the way while leading but you guys but you guys still gave me your support. All the last min work was done and you guys were there still. You guys rock! Love you all!
Firdaus - Thank you so much for all your help with making the props and backdrop. You're a great friend and a huge help to us at BandzOut. From the bottom of my heart, I really really thank you.
Yit Jing - Thank you for helping us with the backdrop and also for getting us a guest band in such a short time. 80% Alcohol are awesome performers. Thank you for being there to cheer me up when I was down at times.
Nicky - You were there to cheer me up when I was down. Thank you for all that and for helping me with my Data Structures.
Mervyn, Kamal, Kenny - Thank you for your support and for helping us with the backdrop.
Vincent - Thank you for you help with the printing of the Certificates and the Tokens. Also, thank you for your concern as a friend throughout our jorney from the moment we got to know each other better. I really appreciate the "ni ok ma?" greetings on msn whenever I sign on. =)
Agnes, Alvin, Syamira, Fariz - You guys... Man... I'm speechless... You were there for Ain and I no matter what. Helping us along in our studies, covering up for us at times when we were busy, lending me a listening ear whenever I was down and out. There were times when I threw my temper but you guys still stuck with me to the end. Agnes, Syamira, I know that BandzOut isn't your type of event but you guys still came and sat there in the second row till the end. Fariz, thank you for coming and sticking with the show to the end. Alvin, I'll concentrate on my studies now! =) You guys have made me one of the happiest person in the world. I love you all!
Senior Xavier and Senior Kia Fang - I know that we did stuff that upset you guys, for example, the problem with our comm flow. I apologise and thank you guys for your understanding. You guys were really patient with us no matter what and gave us one too many chances at times. I hope you guys didn't see us as stepping on your heads cos we never meant it that way. Senior Kia Fang, thank you for guiding us and helping us along the way. For helping us with making the schedules look more accessible to helping us with everything else. Haha... Thank you so much! Senior Xavier, thank you for sticking with us no matter what. And thank you for staying with us, cheering us up and giving us moral support that night when our backdrop tore. You even helped us with the transporting of the backdrop. Thank you so much.
Senior Bob - As I said in my message, you'll always be an Exco in my eyes, no matter what. You've been there for the BandzOut committee since day one, guiding us and giving us contacts to help us along. It's our event and I personally, never regretted letting you pick your co-emcee cos you and Vin created the right atmosphere for the event and that is something that not everyone can do. SIT, SBM, we're all under NYP and that's all that matters to me. Thank you for your invaluable contribution in making BandzOut possible.
Senior Anders, Senior Calvin - Thank you guys for all the publicity for BandzOut. You guys were there for the BandzOut committee as seniors and you guys were also there for me as a friend, cheering me along the way and giving me all kinds of support. Thank you Anders for offering your sleeve for me to wipe my tears. If it wasn't soaked in sweat, I might have considered. =P Thank you to Calvin for always making me laugh, it takes my mind off things really. =)
Lastly, a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped out in BandzOut 2006/07. It will never be possible without you guys, be it just a simple smile, well wishes or helping out in the decorations, no matter how small, it really helped greatly in making the event possbile. Thank you!

BandzOut is just hours away... Mixed feelings and emotions now... Had a bit of trouble with the backdrop just now.

This song makes me cry... I mean, it's such a beautiful love song... I asked Levan to sing that to me... Levan's the lead singer for Ronin in case you don't know. Despite his rather crude remarks at times, he's actually a ultra sweet, ultra romantic guy according to him. I have to agree I guess... Just realised that minutes ago...
I'm gonna cry tomorrow for sure... I mean, all the hard work, working our asses off through the nights is all gonna be determined whether it's a success in just 3 hours tomorrow...

Went to the PC Roadshow with Anders and Calvin. Popped by at where Vincent was working. Boon Kin was working with Vincent too.
Helped them redeem some stuff, Anders was pretty hungry so we went off as soon as we were done.
Had KFC for lunch. Anders had two coupons, one for himself and one for Calvin and I. I shared a buddy meal with Calvin. Talked and talked. Well, I was pretty quiet throughout cos I didn't really know what to say and I was thinking of some stuff that I can't mention here. I did laugh alot though. It's fun listening to Anders and Calvin talk. Takes my mind of stuff...
Anyways, we were planning to study together but Anders decided to talk. He had to leave for some stuff so we walked him to the MRT station. We discussed about where Calvin and I can go to study, Long Johns, Burger King etc etc.
We went to Starbucks at Raffles City in the end. Bought myself a Chocolate Chip Cream Frappachino. Ahh... Heaven... Took our books out to study.
Well we weren't studying most of the time. It was 60% talking, 20% using the phone, 10% getting distracted and 10% studying.
Well, at least that applies for me haha...
Accompanied Calvin back to the PC Roadshow as he wanted to buy a thumbdrive. Got squashed by the crowd again. Said hi to Vincent and Boon Kin, hung around a lil and left for home.
Well, right now, as I type, I'm helping someone with something. Not sure if I can "announce" it here in case I cause any inconvenience whatsoever. Haha...
Web Design and Development test tomorrow. Whoopie de doo...

Jam n Hop ended, I got seriously mistaken for Daphne. Even had to show the girl the picture Daphne and I took before she realised that I wasn't Daphne... The girl's friend even asked if I was her twin... I had to resist from saying yes. Love you Daphy!
Went to S11 for a bite. Realised that I was gonna be late for the movie that I'm supposed to catch.
Rushed to Westmall, managed to get there in time. I even managed to catch some commercials.
The Da Vinci Code was an eye opener.

After the success of Rock For Good @ RGS and Motorola and RONIN's ROCK DA SCHOOL 2006 tour to more than FIFTY secondary and tertiary schools across Singapore, the time has come once again for all graduates and like-minded anarchists from the School Of Rock to mosh the hell out of ourselves again! YOUTH GONE WILD! 2006 promises to be bigger, badder, and louder, with a killer lineup of bands!
